Chosen Wood is a Veteran-owned American business founded in late 2023.
What began as a simple desire to create handcrafted Chalices, Goblets, and Wine Flutes on a wood lathe for family and friends soon became something much larger. During the creative process, we began asking ourselves an important question: "How can we make better use of the beautiful wood left over from each project?"
Rather than allowing quality hardwood to become waste, we began experimenting with ways to transform smaller pieces into products that carried the same craftsmanship and character as our larger creations. From those experiments came the idea of handcrafted wooden blocks engraved with thoughtful, humorous, and inspirational sayings.
For more than a year, we devoted ourselves to product development, prototype manufacturing, market research, and countless hours in the workshop refining both our techniques and our ideas. One of our earliest creations, "Knock On Wood," became the first in what has grown into an expanding collection of Chosen Wood products.
Before offering our products for sale, we produced hundreds of handcrafted examples and gave them away to friends, neighbors, veterans, community organizations, and complete strangers.
The feedback we received was invaluable. It helped us improve our craftsmanship, refine our product designs, and, most importantly, confirmed something we had hoped from the beginning—that simple handcrafted gifts have an amazing ability to make people smile.
That encouragement gave us the confidence to begin commercial production.
Today, Chosen Wood proudly manufactures a growing collection of handcrafted wood blocks, cutting boards, trays, chess boards, chalices, goblets, wine flutes, and other specialty woodworking projects, with many more ideas waiting patiently in the workshop.
Sometimes the best ideas arrive unexpectedly. While discussing the different species of wood our customers might choose for a project, someone asked whether we had chosen a name for the business. At that moment, the answer became obvious. Chosen Wood was born. The name reflects two ideas that remain central to everything we do: The careful selection of beautiful wood and the freedom for our customers to choose products that are meaningful to them.
Every Chosen Wood product is individually handcrafted with care, carefully inspected, and produced with the same attention to detail we would expect if we were making it for our own family.
Every board, every grain pattern, every knot, and every piece tells its own story. Because of that, no two Chosen Wood products are ever exactly alike. We do not strive to create identical products. We strive to create exceptional ones.
